Be Alert for Massive Influx of Motorcycles Across W. KY Due to Local Bike Rally

State officials are reminding motorists to be extra alert the next few days for an influx of motorcycles as riders from across the country converge on Sturgis for the Kentucky Bike Rally. Motorcyclists are also reminded to be safety-minded as they cruise back roads during the event that runs through Sunday.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says regular commuters along US 60 and KY 109 should be aware of traffic congestion near the Union County Fair Grounds in Sturgis as motorcycles, RV’s, and other support vehicles make their way in and out of the bike rally.

According to Todd, the Kentucky Motorcycle Association has purchased and placed “Share The Road” signs along major routes in Union and neighboring counties to remind motorists to be alert for riders.
