WINSLOW, Ind. (AP) — Authorities are searching a landfill in southwest Indiana for a 19-year-old severely disabled Evansville woman who has been missing since July.
Evansville Police Department Sgt. Jason Cullum said the FBI is assisting in the search for Aleah Beckerle at the Blackfoot Landfill near Winslow, 35 miles northeast of Evansville. He says the search warrant, which was sealed by a federal judge, was served Monday.
Beckerle was reported missing July 17. Family members say she needs daily care and medication, and the medicine meant to control her severe seizures was left in the house when she was reported missing, as was her wheelchair.
