Authorities release identity of man killed in single-vehicle wreck in Henderson County

Authorities in Henderson have released the identity of the man killed in a single-vehicle wreck early Sunday morning.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as 20 year old Devin Waddell of Springfield Drive, Henderson.

Around 3:00 Sunday morning, deputies responded to the scene of the wreck in the area of Adam’s Lane and I-69 where authorities say a vehicle had overturned off an embankment and the driver was ejected.
As a result of the collision, authorities indicate I-69 southbound was shut down for about 3 hours at Exit 78 (Audubon Parkway) to Exit 76 (KY 425).

As of news time, authorities in Henderson have not released the identity of a driver who was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on I-69 early Sunday morning.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene of the wreck around 3:00 at Adams Lane and I-69 and found a vehicle overturned off the embankment on the west side of the roadway and the driver had been ejected. Authorities say the driver, whose name is being withheld pending notification of family, was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Henderson County Coroner’s Office.

As a result of the wreck, police say the I-69 southbound was shut down for approximately 3 hours Exit 78 (Audubon Parkway) to Exit 76 (KY 425).

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Henderson Police Department, Henderson Fire Department, Henderson County EMS and the Henderson County Coroner’s Office.
