Authorities investigating Gibson County, Ind. fatal farming accident

An autopsy is scheduled this morning on the body of a male killed in a farming accident Tuesday afternoon in Gibson County, Indiana.

According to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office, emergency personnel were dispatched around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon to a report of a farming accident on County Road 750 South East of US Highway 41. When emergency service personnel arrived on the scene authorities say they discovered an unresponsive male pinned beneath a tree.

The release says efforts to revive the subject were unsuccessful and the Gibson County Coroner was dispatched to the scene to assist the sheriff’s department in the investigation of the death. Gibson County authorities indicate no foul play is suspected and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

An autopsy is scheduled for this morning at 10:00 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office indicates this is an ongoing investigation and the Gibson County Coroner will release the name of the deceased once his investigation is complete.
