2 Owensboro men charged in connection to string of robberies

Two Owensboro men have been charged in connection to a string of gas station robberies.

Police have arrested 19 year old Shakur Butler and 22 year old Darius Carbon in connection to three robberies that occurred in Owensboro.

Owensboro Police report two additional robberies occurred over the holiday weekend that shared similarities to a robbery at the Marathon gas station that occurred Wednesday morning, December 23rd on West 2nd Street where an unknown black male entered the store armed with a handgun, demanded money and then fled the scene on foot.

According to police, on Friday, Christmas Day, a robbery occurred at the Circle K on Crabtree Avenue and then on Saturday a third robbery occurred at the Get-Go Express on Frederica Street.

Butler and Carbon were charged with three counts of first degree Robbery. In addition, Butler was charged with first degree wanton endangerment, and Carbon was charged with tampering with physical evidence.

Both men were lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
