2 New State Troopers Assigned to Henderson and Union Counties

Kentucky State Police Post 16 welcomed five new troopers Thursday at the Henderson Post who graduated from the KSP Academy in Frankfort last month.

KSP Captain Todd Kidd says the new troopers are as follows:

27 year old Michael Jacobs of Frankfort and 25 year old Blake Owens of Hazard will be assigned to Henderson and Union Counties.

21 year old Jakob Clemons of Leitchfield and 29 year old Antonio Robinson of Campbellsville will be assigned to Davies and Hancock Counties.

And 28 year old Scott Curry of Greensburg will be assigned to Ohio and McLean Counties.

A total of 45 new troopers graduated from the Academy as part of the agency’s 93rd cadet class. They started a 23-week training cycle in May in a class that consisted of 70 cadets, but authorities say twenty-five cadets resigned during the weeks of mental and physical challenges that followed.

According to Captain Kidd, the new troopers will undergo an extensive field-training period with experienced troopers for approximately nine weeks before beginning their assignments within the designated counties.
