A two-vehicle wreck in Owensboro Friday claimed the life of a Bowling Green man.
Owensboro Police reports officers and emergency personnel responded to the scene of the wreck at Jefferson Street and Fairfax Drive around 1:25 p.m.
According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed 37 year old James R. Jones, of Bowling Green, was operating a Yamaha scooter northbound on Jefferson Street when he ran a stop sign and crashed into a car traveling on Longfellow Street driven by 34 year old Julio Lopez-Corangues.
Authorities say Jones was transported by ambulance to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Lopez-Corangues, of Owensboro was uninjured in the accident.
The Owensboro Police Department Accident are constructionist Unit responded to the scene and is continuing to investigate the fatal wreck.
